Wakeboarding on a river or open sea? Let Raph Trinidad show you how!

Raph Trinidad wakeboarding

CEBU CITY, Philippines— This young Cebuano wakeboarding prodigy is making a lot of noise lately.

Raph Trinidad, 20, is showing us that wakeboarding should not just be confined to the usual wakeboarding spots because this can be done in other water bodies too.

Trinidad, who has been winning a lot of awards in wakeboarding, shared a video last week of his adventure while at the Sapangdaku River in Barili town that is located on the southwestern side of Cebu province.

He showed his followers that the sport can also be done in a narrow river like the Sapangdaku River.

And on Tuesday, October 26, Trinidad shared another video that wowed his fans and followers.

This time, he is seen enjoying the open waters in Barili.

In the video, Trinidad is seen being pulled by a ‘banka’  (a small motorized outrigger used by local fishermen).

“BEHIND THE BANGKA🔥 Bangka (bang-ka) is a small motorized outrigger used by local fishermen for their daily catch. I was able to head to one of the beaches near my dad’s hometown in Barili and got to try this alternative mode of riding the waves.💯 There ain’t speedboat here. So I tried the bangka! #onlyinthephilippines!” he wrote as caption to his video.

Trinidad will be gracing CDNSportstalk next Wednesday, November 3, to talk about his love for the sport and the presence of a wakeboarding community here in Cebu.

Don’t forget to watch CDNSportalk and learn a lot of exciting things as you get to know his wakeboarding prodigy.

Tune in next week, Siloys! / dcb
