CEBU CITY, Philippines — No more face shields are required in most public places in Cebu City.

Cebu City Acting Mayor Michael Rama on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, said that face shields are no longer necessary in public places, malls, and traditional jeepneys.

However, face shields are still needed inside hospitals, clinics, diagnostic laboratories, other medical facilities, and air-conditioned public utility vehicles.

Rama said the decision was achieved in a convergence meeting on Tuesday night, November 9, 2021.

This means that the public will already be allowed to enter malls and establishments without wearing a face shield.

Rama clarified that for events where close contacts are expected, participants are still expected to wear face shields for protection.

**This is a developing story.
