MANDAUE CITY, Philippines — The Department of Social Welfare and Development Office in Central Visayas (DSWD-7) has already served 461,000 families in the region who were affected by the destruction caused by super typhoon Odette.
DSWD-7 regional director Rebecca Geamala, said as of Tuesday morning, December 28, 2021, they have already given family food packs to 461,000 families affected by the typhoon.
She said the majority of the victims are from Cebu Island, Bohol, and Negros Oriental.
Geamala said the number is expected to increase since they are still getting more reports from the different local government units in the region.
According to Geamala, Siquijor only has 257 affected families who were already given food packs.
The family food pack includes six kilos of Chinese rice, 10 canned goods, cereal, coffee, among others.
The DSWD-7 has a daily target of 1,200 food packs. /rcg
