IN PHOTOS: Workers at Hi-Precision Cebu share secret behind their ‘next-level’ brand of service

With the loosening of restrictions and with businesses opening up again, it seems that the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic is finally over.

And we give credit to all the frontline service providers for their relentless sacrifices and perseverance to save others.

In celebration of Health Workers Week, let us all remember the heroism and bravery of our frontline workers, who to this day continue to provide Cebuanos with life-saving medical care.

DONNA ZAPANTA, Phlebotomist

“When my father was diagnosed with cancer, it was very hard for me jud kay siyempre financial constraint. I had to become the breadwinner of the family. Siyempre, daghan man kog struggles as a woman working in healthcare. Dili kaayo ko basta-basta og leave due to the nature of our work. But still I have overcome all the obstacles through prayer, strong will, and determination lang gud para maka-survive everything that life has come my way. As a healthcare worker, we have to go on and continue what we are doing which is to save lives. We should do as much as we can, in any way, people need us. “

RAMIL DORONG, Delivery Driver for 11 years

JAN BATION, Nurse

Happy and proud ko nga nakatabang ta diri sa atoang mga kaisig nga tawo as a frontliner. For example, naa koy usa ka pasyente nga nianhi kay nagsakit daw ang right lower area sa iyang tiyan.  Good thing nga naa tay doctor at that time so napa-ultrasound dayon siya, and then didto nahibaw-an siya nga naa siyay appendicitis.

This was during the time nga puno-puno pa mga hospitals, so kon wala mi na-cater ato, basin mobuto iyang appendix nya ma-sepsis siya, which is life threatening.  For me, blessing jud kaayo nga open ra gihapon sa Hi Precision para naa pa tay maka-offer nga tests para sa mga non-Covid patients.”

DR. MARY LOUISE TE-CHARCOS, Doctor

“I feel grateful that I get to do what I do because I really enjoy what I’m doing. It’s not really a problem for me to wake up early and go to the clinic and see my patients or go to the hospital to make rounds. If I were not here, they would have no one to talk to, and I would also be delaying the treatment which would cause more problems. So it’s not only rewarding for me, but also I feel happy to see them well, that they are okay and getting better.”

VALERIE BINARAO, Medical Technologist

Actually, ang akong ganahan unta is nursing kay na-inspire man ko sa salida or mga commercial nga naay mga nurses. Ganahan man ko mag uniform og sa work nga murag mag help og mga patients. Pero as a medtech karon, maka-help pod mi para murelease og accurate nga result. So even though wala mi giatubang sa patient, grabe sad ang among impact nila.”
