The Cebu City police yesterday presented an artist’s sketch of one of two gunmen who shot and wounded Cebu City businessman Jonathan Go and his 7-year-old daughter outside their home in Happy Valley, barangay Guadalupe.
He said a more detailed computerized facial composite will have to wait for a witness to be available.
“I think the witness is still waiting for the go-signal of Jonathan Go who is still confined and unable to talk,” said Senior Supt. Noli Romana, Cebu City police chief.
Go, his daughter and their nanny, were in the family’s red Toyota Vios sedan, on the way to bring the child to school in the morning. When the car exited the gate, two two unidentified gunmen approached both sides of the car and opened fire.
Romana said the police are focusing on a single motive behind the shooting, a “personal grudge.”
“Murder cases are personal. It has got to be something deeper. It could still be anyone as of now,” Romana said.
He said the perpetrators are probably still in Cebu province and that police are focusing on securing the businessman’s family. Romana said he called the businessman’s wife to apologize for the violence and assured that “definitely, justice will be served. cartographic sketch
Video footage of the shooting taken by a CCTV camera in the businessman’s compound convinced police investigators that the hired gunmen were amateurs, based on their body movements.
Romana assigned the City Intelligence Branch and the Guadalupe police precinct to investigate the case.
