Cebu ticketholder wins P294M lotto jackpot

The winner of the nearly P300-million jackpot prize of the 6/55 Grand Lotto draw last Saturday came from Cebu City.

He bought his ticket at the lotto outlet across the Tigbala Laundry Shop in sitio Lower Centro, in barangay Pit-os, said Glen Jesus Rada, acting Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) branch manager for Cebu.

Other than this scanty data, Rada said they have no information about the identity of the winner until he or she claims the prize in PCSO’s Manila office.

Rada said they still have no information if the winner is really from Cebu City or a native of another place who happened to buy the ticket in Pit-os.

For security reasons, PCSO officials won’t identify the winner even after he or she claims the prize in Manila.

Rada confirmed that the winner bought the ticket with the winning number combinations- 08-42-35-11-17-22,

The actual jackpot prize reached P294,602,336.00.

Winnings

Until Monday afternoon, Rada said, PCSO Cebu has yet to be notified if the winner had claimed the prize.
Asked if he had any advice for the winner, Rada said, “Spend your winnings wisely.”

If the winner feels generous, Rada suggested donating a share of the blessings to calamity victims.

Security and privace is a real concern, said Rada, as neighbors and other parties may feel envious about the tax-free jackpot winnings.

The owner of the lotto outlet identified as Rosalie Tariman, isn’t entitled to an incentive amount based on the amount of the winnings, unlike previous arrangements, but is rewarded with an increase of the commission from the sales of their outlet, said Rada.

Jose Ferdinand Rojas, PCSO acting chairman, said 105 other players won P44,300 each for picking five of the six-digit winning combination.
