The Department of Tourism (DOT) launched an online portal to guide tourists planning to visit the country next year.
The microsite visitph2015.com was launched by the DOT and its marketing arm, the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) at the Radisson Blu Hotel Monday evening.
“The new campaign is not meant to replace “It’s More Fun in the Philippines,” but rather to sustain and freshen it,” said TPB’s chief operating officer Domingo Ramon Enerio III.
Event organizers and travel agencies were encouraged to register in the portal and post details of their upcoming events.
More opportunities for trade and investment in the Philippines are seen as more tourists come and see the potentials of the country.
Tetta Baad, chairperson of Cebu City Tourism Commission, said the microsite will help vitalize Cebu tourism.
“We are a catalyst, bonding agents to bring together all key tourism players in order to generate results,” she said.
Baad said the commission sees the need to improve local heritage sites in the city has requested for the rehabilitation of Fort San Pedro, the Basilica Minore del Sto. Nino and Magellan’s Cross.
