Portion of S. Osmeña Road closed to traffic

Starting today, the north-bound lane of S. Osmena Road from the corner of Gen. Maxilom Extension to V. Sotto St. will be closed to traffic to allow repair works of the road, an advisory from the Cebu City Traffic Operations Management (Citom) said.

The regional office of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH-7) have been working on the road that leads to Pier 3. “Arellano Boulevard shall be one-way traffic flow from V. Sotto Street to T. Padilla Extension,” Citom executive director Rafael Yap said.

All north-bound private vehicles will be diverted to turn right to V. Sotto St., left to Arellano Boulevard, left to Second St., right to Baclig St. then exit either at the Qimonda Building opening or at the junction on F. Cabahug St. near the Cebu Port Authority (CPA) office.

Passenger jeepneys (PUJs) will also be diverted to the same route, but they won’t be allowed to exit at F. Cabahug.

All PUJs will be made to exit at the Qimonda opening, except for 02B route jeeps which will be made to exit at the T. Padilla junction, then to Benedicto St., left to Gen. Maxilom Ave. and back to their usual route.

South-bound vehicles will have the same access at J.L. Briones St. or at J.C. De Veyra St. “Motorists, drivers and other road users are advised to follow the traffic signs in the re-routing area,” Yap said.
