MANILA, Philippines — Cloudy skies with intermittent rains and thunderstorms will persist in parts of Luzon on Thursday due to a low pressure area (LPA) off Iba, Zambales, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in its early Thursday (June 2, 2022) morning forecast.
While the LPA is expected to dissipate within the day, Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja still cautioned residents in the Ilocos region, Bataan, and Zambales to prepare for possible flash floods and landslides during moderate to at times heavy rains.
Fairer weather is expected in the rest of the country, including Metro Manila, Pagasa said.
“Patuloy ang mainit at maalinsangang panahon sa mga kababayan natin sa Visayas and Mindanao. At sa natitirang bahagi ng Luzon, kung kahapon ay maraming lugar ang nagkaroon ng pag-ulan, ngayon naman ay makakaranas na sila ng maaraw at mainit na panahon.”
(Hot and humid weather conditions will be experienced in the Visayas and Mindanao. And in the remaining areas of Luzon, if rain prevailed in most of the region yesterday, sunny and warm weather conditions will persist today.)
No tropical depression is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility until the weekend.
Pagasa, however, warned of one to two storms this June.
