An eight-year-old girl drowned in the swimming pool of a private school in barangay Banilad, Cebu City last Sunday.
Charlene Panaligan, a resident of Lower Tak-an, barangay Budlaan, Cebu City was declared dead at the Gullas District Hospital in barangay Banilad.
He was with her parents attending 15th anniversary celebration of the Morning Star Christian Church, that was held at Bright Academy School in Gov. Cuenco Avenue.
Initial investigation by the homicide section revealed that Charlene drowned in the adult swimming pool. No one reportedly noticed when she fell into the pool.
An official of Bright Academy who refused to be named confirmed the drowning.
The official said the school only lent their school facilities to the Bright Star Christian church because their head pastor is a teacher of the school.
SPO4 Alex Dacua, homicide investigator said that the father of the victim was playing basketball at the nearby gym while the mother was taking care of victim’s three younger siblings when the incident took place.
