Dead Briton found in hotel

A 50-year-old British woman was found dead inside a room in a hotel in the Cebu Business Park in Cebu City at past 2 p.m. Monday.

SPO4 Rey Cuyos, homicide investigator of the Cebu City Police Office, said there were no indications of foul play on the body of Jacqueline Goodwin of Manchester in the United Kingdom while the hotel room where she was staying was in order.

Cuyos said the victim’s co-worker identified as Danny Grainer of QBE Insurance knocked on her door repeatedly but didn’t get any response.

Grainer sought the help of hotel personnel who forcibly opened the door and found Goodwin lying on top of a table.

Cuyos said an autopsy may be done on Goodwin’s remains to determine the cause of her death.
