2 dead in Badian bus accident

The driver in the  bus crash that killed his wife and 5-year-old daughter  in  the southern Cebu town of Badian admitted he had a few drinks the night before the accident.

PO2 Bismark Babiera said the driver tested positive for liquor use in a liquor test at at the Badian district hospital.

 

The driver Erwin Gerson is now in police custody in Badian.

More than 20 passengers were also injured when the Ceres bus negotiated a sharp curve in the national highway and fell on its side about 7:20 a.m.

 

The bus came from Bato Port in Santander town and was bound for Cebu City.

Many of the passengers were students in Cebu Technological University in Moalboal town.

 

The injured passengers were taken to district hospitals in Malabuyoc, Alegria, and Badian.

The woman who was kiled, 41-year-old Marlyn Gerson and her daughter Geraline were in the front seat of the bus.

 

The overturned bus blocked the road tying up traffic until it was remoed past 9 a.m.
