The Cebu Provincial Board (PB) will today start deliberating on the proposed P3-billion annual budget for 2015 .
But for the two members of the province’s opposition bloc, the budget proposal is “good as passed.”
Cebu first district board member Julian “Teban” Daan and Sun Shimura of the fourth district said they expect zero changes in the annual budget considering the disparity between the members of the One Cebu Party and the Liberal Party (LP) in the PB.
Eight of the 14 PB members are allied with Davide in the LP while Alex Binghay (3rd district), Joven Mondigo Jr. (4th District), Shimura and Daan form the minority.
“The budget hearings are just for formality sake,” said Daan, who is currently acting as governor while Davide and Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale are on official trip outside the country.
Last year, the PB did not slash the P2.59 billion budget, saying the executive department was able to justify the use of the allocations.
