All the patients of Cebu Doctors’ University Hospital that were affected by Tuesday night’s fire are safe and were taken to different hospitals in Cebu, an official of CDUH said.
Oscar Tuason, the vice president for administration of CDUH, said they kept on monitoring their patients and have sent medical staff and equipment to hospitals that took their patients in.
“Some patients who are already stable opted to be discharged instead of transferring to another hospital while the rest were transferred to the different hospitals,” he said.
The bulk of CDUH’s over 200 patients were taken to Chong Hua Hospital while the rest were transferred to the North General Hospital, South General Hospital, Visayas Community Medical Center, Cebu Velez General Hospital and Perpetual Succour Hospital.
“We are in constant talk with the attending physicians. Some requested for nurses and equipment and we give them that assistance,” he said.
According to Tuason, they are set to meet with the Bureau of Fire Protection today to assess the incident.
“They will also be checking on the progress that we made in repairing the damage in our facility. I’m sure they will also tackle what could have caused the fire,” he said.
