A 16-YEAR-OLD boy was accused of raping a 41-year-old mentally challenged woman in Badian town, southern Cebu Friday night.
The victim, accompanied by an elder sister filed a complaint for rape against the boy at the police station.
The victim’s sister told police that the victim was on an errand to fetch water from a spring past 4 p.m. Friday.
The victim failed to return home several hours after she left. The spring was about two kilometers from the victim’s house prompting her brother to look for her.
When the brother found her sister, the victim confided that she was dragged to a bush where she was raped. The victim identified the boy as the one who assaulted her.
Police said the boy did not resist arrest when police collared him at a waiting shed.
In Ginatilan town, a tricycle driver was accused of raping a 13-year-old girl while the victim’s parents were visiting the dead in a cemetery during All Souls’ Day.
Police said the mother was on her way home when she saw her daughter emerging from a grassy area followed by the tricycle driver.
The mother asked her daughter what she was doing in the area but the girl stayed silent.
The girl later confessed to her grandparents that she was sexually abused.
Police arrested the tricycle driver.
