The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) is planning to take its ongoing “Laro’t Saya sa Parke” to Cebu City.
This was revealed by PSC Chairman Richie Garcia in a recent visit here in Cebu City.
“This program of the PSC is aimed towards getting people to go to the park,” Garcia said.
Targeting around 200,000 children all over the country, the Laro’t Saya Sa Parke is a park-based sports-for-all program of the PSC. It has already begun in Manila, Quezon, Kawit, Cavite, Davao, Paranaque, Bacolod and Iloilo. Garcia said they are planning to launch this program in Cebu, Baguio, Ilocos and Vigan.
“Isa talaga ang Cebu sa mga priorities ng PSC in terms of helping its sports program,” Garcia said.
The Laro’t Saya Sa Parke is a varied form of recreational, mass-based and family-oriented activities that aims to raise awareness and appreciation on the joy of getting involved in sports. It is likewise aimed towards bringing sports accessible to the public. The program is held every Saturday and Sunday, from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the park or any vacant lot suitable for sports activities.
