Brit man caught with minors in hotel room

Operatives of the Regional Anti-Cyber Crime Group (ACCG) in Central Visayas arrested a British man for allegedly bringing two females, including a minor, inside a hotel room in Cebu City at past 3 p.m. yesterday.

Senior Insp. Michael Vertudazo, ACCG chief, said they rescued two girls aged 15 and 19 years old from 57-year-old Christopher John Bragoli.

The operation was conducted in cooperation with the International Justice Mission (IJM), a group actively campaigning against human trafficking.

Virtudazo said Bragoli contacted the girls through Facebook and they supposedly sent him lewd photos of themselves through his account.

Police said they learned about Bragoli’s arrival in Cebu City last Sunday.

Virtudazo said they spotted Bragoli walking near a hotel along Gen. Maxilom Ave. with two girls in tow.

He said they coordinated with the hotel management before they barged into Bragoli’s room and arrested him.

Taken from his room were a cellphone, a laptop computer and a digital camera.

The two girls were taken to the Crisis Intervention Unit (CIU) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Virtudazo said they will examine Bragoli’s electronic gadgets to determine if these were used to perpetrate a crime.
