LAPU-LAPU CITY, Cebu—The Nuestra Señora de Regla Parish canceled the start of the patronal visit of the image of the Nuestra Señora de Regla on Monday, September 26, 2022.
The image was scheduled to visit the St. Augustine Parish on Olango Island on Monday. But due to the inclement weather, they decided to cancel the activity.
Fr. Reynante Joseph Ga, the parish priest of Nuestra Señora De Regla Parish, said that it would risky for them to travel to Olango Island due to the big waves and strong winds.
“Tungod sa kakulian nga lisod mapugngan ining bagyo nga Karding, bisan ug dili kita ang direktang naigo, as per advise sa proper authorities sa DRRMO ug Coast Guard authorities, ug sa nagdumala pod sa pumpboat, dili lang nato idayon ang atong pagbiyahe palabang dito sa Sta. Rosa,” he added.
Ga also said that if the weather will calm on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, they might push through with the patronal visit.
In the original schedule of the patronal visit, the image would have stayed at St. Augustine Parish in Olango until September 30.
Aside from the St. Augustine Parish, the image will also visit San Roque Parish in Cordova, Mother of Perpetual Help Parish in Barangay Babag, Barangay Looc, Barangay Gun-ob, Barangay Pajo, Barangay Poblacion, Our Lady of Good Voyage in Airbase, Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Barangay Mactan, Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Barangay Pajac, St. Therese Chapel at Indian Aerospace University (IAU), and Our Lady of Sacred Heart Parish in Barangay Mactan.
