About 250 passengers were stranded as of 10 am after 4 vessels canceled trips in Visayas due to typhoon Queenie.

Typhoon Queenie is now located 21 km east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur and is expected to bring heavy rains in the Visayas based on the 10 a.m. advisory given by state weather bureau Pagasa.

Public storm warning signal number 1 was hoisted over Southern Leyte, Bohol, Southern Cebu, Negros Oriental, Southern Negros Occidental and Siquijor.

In Mindanao, Signal number 1 is also raised over the provinces of Surigao del Norte, Siargao Island, Surigao del Sur, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Davao del Norte, Davao Oriental, Compostella Valley, Dinagat Province Camiguin, Misamis Oriental, Misamis Occidental, Bukidnon and Zamboanga del Norte.

The Philippine Coast Guard in Central Visayas said some ships bound to and from Bohol, Dumaguete and Cebu remain docked until weather conditions improve.
