12th Metrosports badminton unfolds Dec. 6

Badminton enthusiasts can look forward to an action packed ending to 2014 with the staging of the 12th Metrosports Badminton Championships on December 6 at the Metrosports Center in Lahug, Cebu City.

Badminton enthusiasts can look forward to an action packed ending to 2014 with the staging of the 12th Metrosports Badminton Championships on December 6 at the Metrosports Center in Lahug, Cebu City.

END the year with a bang! Join the 12th Metrosports Center Badminton Tournament on Dec. 6, 2014 at the club’s modern badminton courts in Salinas Drive, Lahug.

The event is held in line with Metrosports’ 12th year anniversary.

The one-day tournament offers Men’s Doubles, Ladies Doubles and Mixed Doubles as well as Executive Division which is exclusive to players 40 years-old and above.

The Men’s, Ladies and Mixed doubles will feature the following levels: Supermix, Class D, Class E, Class F and Class G.

The Executive division on the other hand, will feature competions in Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles both in levels D and E.

The winning pairs in the three Supermix levels will receive P7,000 in cash while runners-up get P3,000. The champion pairs in levels D,E,F and G on the other hand will bring home P2,000; P2,000, P1,000 and P1,000 respectively.

In the Executive Division, the champion pairs in Class D and E (men’s doubles and mixed doubles) will pocket P4,000 and P3,000 respectively while second placers will get P2,000 and P1,000.

Meanwhile, tournament organizer Mich Fernandez revealed that so far the event has already attracted a handful of entries from Luzon as well as several badminton groups from Bohol, Tacloban, Naga,

Air Force, Ormoc, Mactan and Bacolod.

She also bared that registration is still ongoing.

The registration fee for the cash-rich event is pegged at P800 in all levels which is inclusive of tournament shirt and fees.

Double entry fee is P600.
