Goldberry Suites and Hotel Cebu’s first anniversary celebration is all about achieving growth and improvements

No challenge is too big for Goldberry Suites and Hotel Cebu after one year of bravely launching in the middle of a health crisis.   

On November 23, 2021, the hotel opened its doors to guests with a tough road to cross. Three hundred sixty-four days later, the property has become a testament to the staff and management’s unwavering dedication and perseverance in providing high-quality services to its guests.

With the theme “Golden Moments, Sweet Beginnings,” Goldberry Suites and Hotel Cebu marked its first anniversary last November 22, 2022. An intimate celebration was held in one of the hotel’s function rooms, headed by Operations Manager Jason Lim, hotel executives, staff, and some guests.

In an interview, Lim said, “The hotel started a bit shaky. It was challenging because the hotel opened in the middle of the pandemic. Considering the many restrictions for the travelers, we were forced to open. But it wasn’t all because of that. We want to deliver our services one way or the other.”

“After the opening, Odette came. It was a horrific typhoon, which challenged us greatly because we were at our soft-opening stage. It happened that guests wanted to go in. We only had two floors open then, and we were forced to open 61 out of 70 rooms with only three housekeeping staff. So, it was challenging,” he added. 

Lim, who had his eyes set on giving unmatched hospitality experience to hotel guests, shared that he reached out to the people he knew who needed a job. The hotel hired them; some are still working in Goldberry and are regularized. The hotel’s management is proud that they didn’t give up amidst the adversity and lack of suppliers.

“This celebration is part of our first anniversary and to look back to our clients. Throughout, they have supported us with all the endeavors and barriers along the way. They’re with us, and we’ve been a loyal hotel to them,” he expressed.

Guests can look forward to many improvements from Goldberry. The golden moments and sweet beginnings will remain in the hotel’s services while it is improving from time to time. 

“You know it’s not a perfect company, not perfect management. And I believe nothing is like that. What we can do is provide the best services to our guests and keep them coming back. Even if guests give us good feedback, we still consider the room for improvement,” according to Lim.
