Cebu City Council approves resolution for calamity status

Cebu City councilThe Cebu City Council approved a resolution placing the city under a state of calamity.

Cebu City Agriculturist Joey Baclayon said Typhoon Ruby caused damages to crops worth P34 million.

The declaration will allow the city to use its calamity funds. Yesterday the Cebu Provincial Board approved a resolution placing the province under calamity status to allow disbursement of the province’s remaining P73 million calamity fund balance./ Reporter Jose Santino S. Bunachita
