Two brothers, their business partner and 20 workers come to Cebu City every last quarter of the year to manufacture and sell Pampanga-style Christmas lanterns.
“Cebu is a nice place to operate a business. Most of our customers here can really afford (our lanterns),” said Janet Gordola, who had been selling lanterns in Cebu for nine years.
The Largo brothers, Alvin and Junie, help in making the lanterns. Junie’s specialty is making small lanterns, which measure six and a half inches. These are made of shells with a small bulb inside. These lanterns are sold at P150 each.
Alvin, on the other hand, does bigger-sized lanterns.
Alvin was installing flexilights into the six-foot-tall lantern with snowflake designs that costs P7,500 when CDN dropped by for a visit.
Yellow, green, blue, red and white flexilights were tied into the lantern using cable ties.
He said another team is tasked to form the metals into snow flakes like shapes using pliers.
Their creations have attracted buyers not just from Cebu but from Bohol and Zamboanga as well.
Gordola said the prices of the lanterns depend on their sizes and designs.
