ALA BOXING Gym’s rising prospect Juren Labordo scored a seventh-round technical knockout (TKO) win against Manila’s Jaymart Toyco in the main event of the ALA-Cobra Tunay Na Lakas fight card held in Molo, Iloilo last Thursday.
The Bacolod City-native Labordo downed Toyco at the 2:38 mark of the seventh round to score his second straight victory. He now has 14 wins with nine knockouts and two losses.
Toyco suffered his sixth loss against 14 wins.
Toledo City’s Arjan Canillas, meanwhile, also scored a TKO win over Royroy Sumugat in the third round of their eight-round fight.
Canillas improved his record to 9-0-2 (win-loss-draw) with seven wins by knockouts.
In another bout, Geo Santisima of Masbate City needed only one round to secure his fourth win after knocking out John Rey Melligen of Bacolod City at 2:14 mark of the opening round.
Tagbilaran City’s Virgel Vitor won over Jemboy Rosales of Talibon, Bohol via unanimous decision after four rounds while Gerard Suico of Mandaue City knocked out Ronald Ombing of Talibon, Bohol in the first round.
Bukidnon’s Melvin Jerusalem also floored Jomar Ceneta of Talibon, Bohol in the second round.
