LPA seen to enter PAR Friday, light rains forecast for Luzon, Visayas

MANILA, Philippines–A low-pressure area is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility by Friday evening or Saturday morning, Panahon TV said.

The LPA was last observed 1,230 kilometers east of Mindanao. It is expected to affect the country in the next few days.

A diffused tail-end of a cold front in Eastern Visayas and the northeast monsoon in Northern and Central Luzon will bring rains in parts of the country, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

“Bicol Region, Visayas and the provinces of Aurora, Quezon, Marinduque and Romblon will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms,” Pagasa said.

Cagayan Valley, Cordillera, Ilocos Region and the rest of Central Luzon will have cloudy skies with light rains. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
