Ships bound for Bohol, Leyte and Mindanao were allowed to leave port at 2 p.m. yesterday after the Philippine Coast Guard got the signal from the weather bureau that these destinations were storm-free.
Six vessels and 20 boats were allowed to sail, said Coastguard Commander Rodolfo Villajuan.
Carolina Salomon, 68, was one of the thousands of passengers stranded in Cebu port for two days because of typhoon Seniang, was overjoyed.
“Hay salamat intawn, makauli na gyod mi,” said Salomon.

Salomon was traveling with her daughter, grandson and neighbors bound for home in Tubigon, Bohol after visiting her daughter in Cebu City.
After spending two nights in the pier without a chance to bathe or change clothes, Salomon said she learned one thing: “Prepare extra money for emergencies while traveling,” she said in Cebuano.
