Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Paz Radaza feels she should be included in the discussions about the putting up of a third bridge that connects mainland Cebu and Cordova.
This after Cordova Mayor Adelino Sitoy said in radio interview that they have a proposal to cut travel time of airport passengers from Cebu City by passing through the third bridge to Cordova then to barangay Basak in Lapu-Lapu City then straight to the airport.
Radaza said that she does not meddle in things that does not concern her city but because Sitoy was talking about an access road traversing barangay Basak and MEPZ 2 to the airport, she should be included in the discussions so she can also update her constituents.
Radaza welcomes the project as it would mean faster travel time from Cebu City to the airport and Lapu-Lapu City will benefit in terms of tourism and future investments it would bring.
She said she needs to know the where exactly the access road would traverse so they can make their own assessment as there are subdivisions and business establishments that will be affected.
Radaza also wants that a public hearing should be held as the bridge management will collect toll fee from users.
But Radaza also revealed that they have been working on the widening of the Maximo Patalinghug Ave. from Marigondon crossing ML Quezon highway to ease traffic congestion in the area and for shorter travel time to the airport from Cordova.
She said during the time of former congressman Arturo Radaza, her husband, they started acquiring the lots needed for the widening.
