TWO men were wounded after they were shot by motorcycle-riding assailants in barangay Cansojong, Talisay City, southern Cebu.
Wounded in the chest was Ikhan Akkok, 27. His companion, Gilbert Alvarez, 40, was wounded in the hand.
The victims are residents of barangay Labangon, Cebu City.
Police said the two victims had gone to Cansojong to redeem the motorcycle that Alvarez pawned to a certain Eugene.
The two men met Eugene in barangay Tangke where they paid him P8,000.
After receiving the money, Eugene instructed the two victims to follow him to Cansojong where the motorcycle was kept.
Eugene boarded a motorcycle driven by another man. He was followed by Akkok and Alvarez, who were also on a motorcycle.
As they were traveling along the South Road Properties, three men on a motorcycle fired shots at Akkok and Alvarez.
The culprits sped off after the attack. Eugene and his companion also drove off, leaving the wounded two victims on the ground.
Concerned citizens brought the two wounded victims to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City.
Recovered from the crime scene were one empty shell and one live bullet of a .45 caliber pistol.
Police are still investigating the motive behind the attack.
