Miracle

“Father, has Pope Francis ever performed a miracle?” Ryan asked.
“I really don’t know,” I said, shrugging my shoulders.
“Some of my friends said that they read in the Internet about some miracles he did!”
“Is that right?”
“Yup! But it would be really great to see him perform one. I once read, for example, that St. John Paul II exorcised a woman possessed by a devil in St. Peter’s Square.”
“Oh, that one? Exorcism is a sacramental that manifests God’s power over the devil. Expelling demons can, however, be seen like a kind miracle.”
“But personally experiencing any miracle would be good for my faith.”
“Really? But wasn’t the gathering of millions in Luneta already a miracle since there were no serious mishaps despite the minor stampede?”
“True, but you know….,”
“Then why don’t you be your Meracle!”
“Miracle?” Ryan’s curiosity was aroused.
“Spelled with ME, not MI,” I clarified.
“Huh?”
“I remember a touching miracle story I read once in a newspaper.”
“About what, Father?”
“Of a little girl who overheard a doctor saying that ‘only a miracle’ could save her mother from her brain ailment!”
“…wow, she was that little?”
“Yup. So she got whatever money she had in her piggy bank and went to the nearest drugstore asking for a ‘miracle’!”
“That’s really so cuuute, Father!”
“At first, they kindly explained that they didn’t sell that ‘kind of medicine’ in the pharmacy. But the girl insisted.”
“I hate saaad endings!” Ryan squirmed in his seat.
“Don’t worry, this one ends veeery well,” I assured him.
“The other employees of the drugstore laughed at the girl’s request. One of the owners, however, took her seriously.”
“This is beginning to sound like he’s going to tell her that there’s no Santa Claus.”
“He turns out to be a famous neurosurgeon. He asked her what she wanted the ‘miracle’ for. The girl explained the symptoms of her mother. The man kindly asked her if he could take a look at her mom. After examining the mother, he said that he would operate on her for free, but said he couldn’t guarantee it to be  100% successful.”
“I don’t wanna hear this…! Augh!” Ryan exclaimed.
“And her mother was cured!”
“The miracle was the little girl’s faith!” Ryan excitedly concluded.
“And everyone else around her who believed in miracles.”
“So you mean that we can each be a miracle?”
“I didn’t say that, our Lord did. In fact, you yourself said that you experienced many changes in your life just before Pope Francis arrived. And during his short visit, you saw many fruits in yourself and in many small ordinary things you did, right?”
“That’s sooo true, Father.”
“With Pope Francis’ visit, we learned that some of the most trivial human gestures can become miracles if we add the grain of faith into it. Remember the Pope’s smile, his waving hand and sincere reactions to people’s stories already moved everyone to believe, hope and love more. So many persons experienced in a natural way, their own unique miracles through a conversion of heart. And many who witnessed these hidden divine touches in others, were likewise moved towards their own interior transformation.”
“So that’s what you call a meracle, Father?”
“I guess, it’s another way of calling a conversion,” I said.
“Well, I would call it a WERACLE, Father?”
“That sounds horrible, Ryan, but if it helps remind you about the miracle you and I can be, then who am I to judge you?”
“ROL!!!” Ryan Roared Out Laughing.
