“The Sto. Niño is a reminder of Jesus’ love for the Cebuanos and Filipinos. This is the very essence of this activity – the Hangop sa Senyor event is a symbol of Christ’s coming into our lives,” said Crown Regency Hotel & Towers – Cebu’s General Manager, Mr. Hitesh Sampat regarding the Hangop sa Senyor 2015 held last January 15.
The event is a ceremonial descending of an 8-foot tall Sto. Niño statue from the 35th floor of the tallest hotel building in the metro as a way of giving honor to the Holy Infant. A first in the history of Cebu’s Sinulog Celebration.

Located at the center of Cebu City, Crown Regency has made a commitment to contribute quality activities for Cebuanos and tourists to see and participate in every Sinulog Season.

Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama and Councilor Nestor Archival also graced the occasion. Together with Crown Regency Hotels & Resorts owner, Dr. John King, Mayor Rama and Councilor Archival initiated the ceremony with a cheerful drumbeat.

Special performances by the Sinulog Idol Season 3 Champion Ronna Lofranco and the USJ-R Drum & Bugle Corps also contributed to the success of the event.

It was also made possible by the event’s presentor, the Philippine Retirement Authority (PRA), and other generous establishments such as Yale Hardware, Lagtang Agrivet Supply, Dragon Fireworks, Sky Cable, MOR, ASI.COM.PH, HikVision, and Happy Museum.

The descent of the Sto. Niño was witnessed by hotel guests, motorists, and passersby’s along the Osmeña Boulevard.

The Hangop sa Senyor activity is envisioned to become an annual tradition at Crown Regency Hotel & Towers every Sinulog.
