THE CEBU City Niños secondary swimming squad and Talisay City’s elementary division tankers lorded the CVIRAA swimming competition at the Cebu City Sports Center .
The Niños collected a total of 20 gold medals, 12 silvers and three bronzes while Talisay City hauled 17-8-3 (gold-silver-bronze).
Spearheading the Niños campaign were Michael Ichiro Kong and Karen Mae Indaya, who won five and seven gold medals, respectively.
Kong topped the 400-meter freestyle, 200m butterfly, 200m backstroke, 100m butterfly and won another gold being part of the boys’ 4x100m medley relay team.
Indaya topped the 400m freestyle, 800m freestyle, 200m backstroke, 200m freestyle and joined teammates in winning the 4x50m medley relay girls, 4x100m medley relay girls and 4x100m freestyle girls events.
Other gold medalists from the Niños were Razel Cabajar (200m butterfly and 100m butterfly), Alexine Maisey Chi (100m backstroke), Junvic Tiro (200m breast stroke and 100m breast stroke), Justine Reign Garrido (200m breaststroke and 100m breast stroke) and Lindsay Gonzales (100m freestyle).
Psalm Deniel Aquino and Raven Faith Alcoseba meanwhile, led Talisay City’s impressive performance in the elementary division after winning seven and six gold medals, respectively.
