A MAN was arrested after police caught him with a firearm in barangay Inayawan, Cebu City last Tuesday night.
A .38 revolver and a pack of suspected shabu was recovered from Jujan Brigoli Apor, said police.
He was arrested by operatives of the City Intelligence Branch who rushed to the area around 10 p.m. to respond to an armed person alarm.
The arrest happened a day after the police and barangay officials met to discuss the recent spate of shootings in the place.
Records at the Cebu City Control Center showed that eight shooting incidents happened in the barangay in the last two months. There were 34 shooting incidents in the area that resulted to 16 deaths. Twenty cases remain unsolved.
Senior Supt. Condrado Capa, acting Cebu city police chief, ordered more policemen fielded in Inayawan which is under the Pardo Police Station.
