THE TECHNICAL Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) Region-VII will be holding a running event dubbed “Tatak TESDA: Dagan Ta, Tabang Ta” early tomorrow starting at the Cebu Business Park.
The fund-raising activity, which is first held in the Visayas Region, will be supported by Tesda Chief, secretary Joel Villanueva, who will run together with his wife, Gladys.
The fun run aims to raise funds for Tesda scholars all over the region. It will be used for their transportation and food allowances.
“Yes, I will be running as well to support the program and our scholars,” said Villanueva yesterday at the University of Cebu-Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu campus. “TESDA has been giving free scholarships to them but some cannot sustain in their studies because of lack in food and transportation allowances.”
The event, organized by the newly elected officers of the Cebu Association of Public-Private Institution (CAPTI), is targeting over 100 scholar beneficiaries.
“As the newly-elected officers, we come up to this immediate need for our scholars to raise funds for them,” Mary Ann Roble, CAPTI president, told Cebu Daily News.
The race will be featuring 3-kilometer and 6k distances. The race starts at the Sumilon Road behind the Colegio de la Inmaculada Concepcion at 5 a.m.
