A GRADUATING high school student was raped on her way home after doing a school project at an Internet shop last Sunday night in Carcar City, southern Cebu.
Police later arrested the suspect identified as Santiago Powao. Charges of rape and possession of drug paraphernalia have been filed against Powao at the Carcar City Prosecutors’ Office last Wednesday.
Police said the victim was able to identify suspect from a tattoo on his right shoulder.
Police said the girl was walking home from an Internet café when a man poked a knife at her.
The girl was then forcibly brought under a coconut tree where she was raped.
The victim was found by her mother the following morning wandering along the highway.
The mother brought her daughter to the police station after the girl related her harrowing experience.
