THE Tisa II Elementary School conducted a seminar on the prevention of child sexual abuse and exploitation last Feb. 8-14.
The seminar was in support of the Council for the Welfare of Children’s national awareness week with the theme of “Labanan ang Pang-aabusong Sekswal sa mga bata. Now na!”
The seminar included a series of lectures and film showings to educate the school children on sexual abuse and exploitation.
Other activities were the sharing of thoughts and counseling.
School principal Jeralyn Rico said, “Seminars like this should be held annually to cultivate awareness and right attitudes among the school pupils about child sexual abuse. Child abuse cases often make headlines, thus this seminar will be a great help for pupils.”
