A 46-year-old woman stabbed a sleeping man with a knife after she slipped undetected into his house in barangay Uling, Naga City, southern Cebu last Thursday.
Josephine Papas is suffering from a nervous breakdown, according to her son.
When she attacked the homeowner Wilfredo Talotalo, she shouted that he was the one who killed her son.
Talotalo was stabbed several times but survived.
His friend, Jureboy Villahermia, 32, heard the commotion and went to the room where he saw the woman stabbing Talotalo.
He told her to stop but the woman turned on him with the knife.
A scuffle ensued but Villahermia was able to disarm the woman.
Talotalo was rushed to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center for medical treatment.
Papas was turned over to the Naga police.
