This was the advice of Gina Go-Osmeña to women who attended the “Colour Me Ladies Conference 2015” last Saturday.
Amidst campaigns for gender equality, Osmeña told women to “submit yourselves to your husbands.”
Osmeña, Jesus Reigns Philippines founder, said marriages work if both the man and the woman treat each others as partners.
“We are our husbands’ intercessors. We (wives) should not put our husbands down,” she said.
“Our role is to help our husbands reach their destinations. Don’t compete with them and don’t even consider them as enemies,” Osmeña added.
Even when arguing, women should learn to also hear out their husbands and not tell them to “shut up.”
TV host and actress Donita Rose-Villarama spoke about the multiple roles of women which include being a friend, mother, wife, laundrywoman, and nanny among others.
“It’s hard to be a woman especially in Philippine set up where sometimes we are dominant,” Villarama said.
TV personality Felichi Pangilinan – Buizon spoke of “beauty that shines through” in every woman.
About a thousand women attended this year’s conference which carried the theme “Loving Me” that embodies Psalm 139:14 which states, “I praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”
