Talisay gov’t asks Davide’s help on ro-ro port

The Talisay City government asked Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III for assistance in securing authorization from the Cebu Port Authority (CPA) to takeover a roll-on/roll-off (roro) port along the south coastal highway.

Talisay City officials entered into a 25-year agreement with Asian Marine Transport Corp., to manage the ro-ro port.

But the agreement is in abeyance until the Talisay City government can secure the CPA’S consent.

Under the agreement, AMTC will pay P800,000 to the city government as  monthly rental fee. Governor Davide said he will write CPA’s general manager, Edmund Tan concerning Talisay City’s request.
