LAPU-LAPU CITY, Cebu- A total of three policemen from the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office (LCPO) were given temporary assignments because they have relatives who are running in the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Elections scheduled next month.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Christian Torres, the LCPO spokesperson, said that the three would be allowed to return to their assigned units after the election was over.

Torres said that one police personnel, who used to be assigned at LCPO’s traffic enforcement unit, was transferred to Police Station 1 in Olango Island.
He said that the two others, who used to be assigned in Police Station 1, were transferred to Station 4 in Barangay Marigondon in mainland Lapu-Lapu.
“In compliance sa directive sa national headquarters nga kung naa kay relative anang barangaya [nga mo lansar], i-transfer ka og laing station until mahuman ang eleksyon,” Torres said.

However, he said that to date, they did not receive any directive from their chief of police, PCol Elmer Lim, for a reshuffling of personnel.
Meanwhile, LCPO, in coordination with the Commission on Elections (Comelec), will also hold a peace covenant signing on Saturday, September 23, to ensure the conduct of a peaceful and orderly BSKE on October 30. / dcb
