AEG, Boysen Paints to face off in CABC finals

CEBU CITY, Philippines— AEG Building Prints and Boysen Paints will battle for the much-awaited finals of the Cebu Architects Basketball Club (CABC) 5th Corporate Cup after trouncing their respective foes in the semifinals on Sunday, September 17, at the Benedicto College gymnasium. 

AEG Building Prints, the defending champions of the tournament, outlasted Diamond Built, 70-65, while Boysen Paints edged Modern Windows 77-64.

Team captain Bong Gabison topscored for AEG Building Prints with 23 points and was a rebound shy from logging a double-double game after grabbing nine rebounds. 

Dexsel Caadan added 10 points in AEG’s big win, while Joseph Cabigas chipped in seven markers. 

Cyni Esconde tallied 18 points while Dave Dela Cerna had 16 points for Diamond Built.

Before earning the victory, AEG needed to overcome eight lead changes and five deadlocks against Diamond Built in their showdown.

Meanwhile, Chester Hinagdanan and Chester Judilla played in tandem in Boysen Paint’s win over Modern Windows. 

Hinagdanan scored 16 and Judilla with 15 points. Chad Go added 13 while Abet Ceniza scored 12 and Miggy Aparri had 11 for the winning squad.

Lemuel Aspacio spoiled his 19-point game for Modern Windows, so did Anthony Bejanting’s 14 points. 

The finals is on September 24 at the same venue along with the battle for third featuring Diamond Built and Modern Windows.
