Minors tagged in sex abuses

Police are investigating separate  cases of two girls   aged three and 13 who were molested after spending time in Internet shops in barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City last Wednesday.

The suspects are also minors,  aged nine and 17.

The  incidents are being investigated by the Guadalupe police and staff of the  Gender And Development (GAD) office.

GAD focal personnel Rosalinda Ledama said the suspected boy offenders  may have been influenced by what they saw in pornographic websites.

In both  incidents, the victims and the alleged culprits came from Internet shops.

Police said the 17-year-old boy accused of molesting a deaf-mute  13-year-old girl was invited yesterday for questioning.

Police are still awaiting the results of the medical examination conducted on the girls.

Senior Insp. Allan Rosario, chief of the Guadalupe police, said there are no complainants yet in both incidents.

Rosario said it was the boy’s  parents who turned over the boy  to authorities to clear his name.
