Fajardo is GAB’s Boxer of the Month for August

CEBU CITY, Philippines — Knockout artist Miel “Silent Assassin” Fajardo’s latest triumphs in the ring didn’t go unnoticed as the Games and Amusements Board (GAB) named him the “Boxer of the Month” for August. 

This was officially announced by GAB on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 via a social media post.

Fajardo stops favored Gabunilas in 1st round

Fajardo stole the spotlight in the local boxing scene after his sensational first round technical knockout win against fellow prospect John Paul Gabunilas last August 15, 2023 at the Hoops Dome in Lapu-Lapu City. 

The GAB “Boxer of the Month” recognizes the best performing Filipino boxers each month.

Boxer of the Month for August

Fajardo joined the likes of Kenneth Llover who was GAB’s “Boxer of the Month”, while Joe Noynay for June and former three-division world champion John Riel Casimero for May. 

The victory earned Fajardo the Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) light flyweight title in one of the most-awaited bouts pitting two of the country’s best prospects in this division.

Fajardo boxing record

Fajardo has a near perfect record of 10 wins with 11 knockouts with 1 loss and two defeats. 

The Manila-based Fajardo is currently ranked No. 6 in the World Boxing Council (WBC) and No. 12 in the World Boxing Organization (WBO) light flyweight division.
