Local fight fans will get the chance to personally find out the answer when the two main event fighters of PP30 hold a public workout today at the ALA Boxing Fitness Gym in Banilad Town Center.
Donaire (33-3, 21KOs), a five division world champion arrived in Cebu last Monday for a two-week training at the famed ALA Gym to prepare for his comeback fight against Brazilian William Prado (22-4-1,15 KOs) for the NABF super bantamweight title at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. He will be facing Ryo Akaho of Japan in today’s sparring.
Nietes for his part, will be facing Virgil Vitor today. The longest reigning Filipino boxing champion will defend his WBO Lightflyweight title against Mexican Gilberto Parra (19-2, 17KOs) on March 28.
Akaho (25-1-2, 17KOs), on the other hand, will fight Ghana’s Prosper Ankrah (24-4, 15KOs) for the vacant WBO Inter continental junior featherweight title in the undercard.
Also set to show his boxing skills today is IBF Inter-continental super bantamweight champion “Prince”Albert Pagara against Philippine super flyweight champion Melvin Gumban.
