MANILA, Philippines — Those in the air transport industry, particularly the aircraft pilots and related professionals, are among the highest paying jobs in the country in 2022.
The aircraft pilots and related associate professionals each received an average monthly income of P135,363.
This is according to the Philippine Statistics Authority’s (PSA) 2022 Occupational Wages Survey Results, which covered 193 monitored occupations in 72 selected industries.
The highest-paying jobs in the country can be found in the air transport industry, particularly aircraft pilots and related associate professionals who, in 2022, were each receiving an average monthly income of P135,363.
This is according to the Philippine Statistics Authority’s (PSA) 2022 Occupational Wages Survey Results, which covered 193 monitored occupations in 72 selected industries.
In a report dated Sept 22, the PSA said pilots and related aviation professionals were followed by software developers with monthly income of about P70,595 and by mathematicians and actuaries who receive P63,017 in monthly pay.
Next in line were production supervisors and general foremen with P63,017, and applications programmers with P58,643.
The PSA said specialist medical practitioners were in the sixth spot with P57,476 average monthly income, followed by statisticians with P51,607; medical doctors or generalist medical practitioners, P51,251; geologists,P49,059, and accountants, P48,982.

The PSA said that, based on the survey, the average income of full-time and time-rated workers in 2022 was P18,423. This is 11.7 percent higher compared to their P16,486 average monthly salary in 2020, it noted.
“The overall average monthly wage rate of time-rated workers on full-time basis across 193 monitored occupations in 72 selected industries was P 18,423 in 2022. This indicates an 11.7 percent increase from the average monthly wage rate of these workers in 2020 at P16,486 and a 1.7 percent increment from their average monthly wage rate in 2018 at P 18,108,” it said.

The survey further showed that both male and female workers had a 6.9-percent increase in wages compared to their income in 2020.
Meanwhile, food service workers, bus transport workers, select courier activity workers, physical therapists, and pharmacists were among the lowest earners with less than P20,000 monthly wage.
