Mary Ysabelle Pondoc was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia last June 9, 2023. She first presented symptoms such as paleness, stomach ache, joint pains, fatigue, recurring fever, and swollen eyes. This prompted her parents to seek medical consultation at Tagbilaran City Health and was advised a series of laboratories. The dengue test result was negative, but the Complete Blood Count (CBC) test was alarming.
On June 6, Ysabelle was admitted at a hospital due to a very low Red Blood Cell (RBC) and platelet count. She was consequently diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, commonly known as ALL. Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) is a cancer of the blood and bone marrow that progresses quickly, and commonly affects children.
This three-year-old girl is the only daughter of Mary and Lito. Mary works as a healthcare assistant, and Lito is a garbage collector. Their combined limited income is not enough to meet the unlimited needs of their daughter’s chemotherapy treatment. They are in desperate need of help and are earnestly pleading for financial assistance to help their child get the life-saving treatment. Mary wishes to see their playful and smiling child overcome the “Big C” and be cancer-free.
