Spike is fault-free: Owner died due to heart attack, not by dog

Authorities said a heart attack, and not an aggressive attack from his dog, Spike, killed 63-year-old George Mayol, the man found lifeless in his own home in Talisay City last September 28.

Because of this, Mayor Gerald Anthony ‘Samsam’ Gullas said they would push through with Spike’s adoption after health authorities confirmed that Mayol died of a cardiac arrest.

The city government will proceed with having Spike, Mayol’s pet dog, up for adoption and five more canines placed under the city veterinarian’s care.

Gullas added that Spike had not shown any signs of aggressiveness while under the city veterinarian’s custody.
