CEBU CITY, Philippines – A construction worker, who moonlights as a drug dealer, landed in jail after he was caught with a total of P204,000 worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Kalunasan, Cebu City on Wednesday evening, October 4, 2023.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA-7) identified the arrested person as 29-year-old Aldrin Rosaldo, a resident of the mountain barangay of Sirao in Cebu City.
The suspect was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Sitio Sobusteha, Barangay Kalunasan, Cebu City at around 6:50 p.m. on Wednesday.
According to PDEA-7, Rosaldo was a member of a “newly-identified drug group.”
Operatives seized from his possession six packs of suspected shabu weighing a total of 5 grams, one smartphone, one motorcycle, and non-drug evidence.
Leia Alcantara, spokesperson of PDEA-7, said the buy-bust operation was planned after a month-long case buildup by their operatives.
Based on their monitoring, the suspect was able to dispose 30-50 grams of shabu per week.
Rosaldo is now detained at the Guadalupe Police Station while PDEA-7 prepare for the filing of a complaint for the sales and possession of illegal drugs against him.
The buy-bust operation was made in coordination with the Guadalupe Police Station and the Naval Forces Central (NAVFORCEN). / dcb
