Kathryn Bernardo on ‘A Very Good Girl’ P100-million success: ‘This gives us hope for PH cinema’

Kathryn Bernardo was overwhelmed with love and gratitude after her movie “A Very Good Girl” surpassed P100 million earnings in two weeks—a feat not only for the film production but also for Philippine cinema.

The actress marked the milestone by showing behind-the-scenes photos of her and her co-star Dolly de Leon, via Bernardo’s Instagram page on Thursday, Oct. 12.

“100 million?! You have no idea how much this gives us hope for the Philippine cinema. Thank you so much for all your love and support!” she said.

 

Fans and fellow celebrities also celebrated the achievement, commending Bernardo and the “A Very Good Girl” team for a job well done.

“A Very Good Girl,” directed by Petersen Vargas, premiered in Philippine theaters on Sept. 27. The Star Cinema film also had its Hollywood premiere last Oct. 5.

Aside from Bernardo and De Leon, other cast members include Angel Aquino, Chie Filomeno, Jake Ejercito, Donna Cariaga, Gillian Vicencio, Ana Abad Santos, Kaori Oinuma, Althea Ruedas, Nathania Guerrero and Nour Hooshmand.
