EXTREME sport enthusiasts will have their field day today when the first-ever Summer Tour of Cebu Boardriding Community takes center stage in Poro, Camotes Island, Cebu.
Some 20 skateboard and wakeboard riders from the city will strut their stuff in the three-day event, which will be ushered in by the Skateboard tour around the island with riders exchanging ideas in skate techniques alongside top skate boarder Edger Morales.
Noel Niño Quisan of the Cebu Boardriding Community said the event is part of their goal to promote the sport to other parts of Cebu.
“The whole concept of the tour is to kick start the series of Summer Tour, this way we can reach to the riders on the place and could exchange ideas to develop the sport,” he said. “We are going to visit Daanbantayan in April and another place in Cebu in May.”
He also announced that tomorrow, wakeboard drills and rides with national campaigner Joselito “Skrapi Koko” Yuson Jr. will be staged.
“The local government unit of Camotes has invited and supported us to do this event which is very helpful to reach out to different riders in Cebu,” he said.
The group will also hold a mini skate clinic for those who are interested to learn. The third day will be a gathering of all boarders from the group and the riders in Camotes Island.
