Girls’ Under-15 crown of Aboitiz Football Cup to be disputed by two local powerhouses
The championship game in the girls’ under-15 division of the 17th Aboitiz Football Cup will be played today at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) football field in barangay Canduman, Mandaue City.
The finals match will be played between the undefeated SHS-AdC squad and the Saint Theresa’s College (STC) team.
SHS-AdC will be coming into today’s game with a slight advantage as it will be playing in its home turf. The Magis Eagles is also entering today’s game without a single loss in three games for 9 points in the standings.
STC, on the other hand, had a 3-1 (win-loss) record prior to today’s crucial game.
The other game today, which starts 8 a.m., will feature Tabor Hill and Mactan Spartans, who will battle for third-place honors in the same division. The finals starts at 9:30 a.m.
GAMES SUNDAY
Games will continue tomorrow in other divisions in different venues.
Consolacion FC will face Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC-A) team A for the crown in the under-seven mixed division while DBTC-C will play against MAD FC for the third-place honors. These games will be played at the SHS-AdC field.
At the San Roque Parish Football Field in Subangdaku, Mandaue City, DBTC will play against Benthel Asia for a boys’ under-18 quarterfinals match. Early semifinalists in the division are the University of Southern Philippines-Foundation (USP-F) and PAREF Springdale. The next quarterfinals match will be on March 29.
Warshocks FC and DBTC-A will also fight for the last semifinals seat in the boys’ under-13 division at the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC) field tomorrow.
Cebu Dynamo FC, Consolacion FC and the SHS-AdC have already qualified last weekend.
In the under-11 mixed division, Lahug FC-B and DBTC Savio fight for the right to join the Cebu International School (CIS), Lahug FC-A and Suba Basbas in the semifinals.
